Working at night is not fun! By the time you get out from work, all you could think of is your bed and a good long rest (and trust me, you consume more time sleeping during the morning than at night). Because of this, I tend to be unproductive in other things like going to the gym or even getting a regular medical or dental check-up.

Lucky enough, I was able to get a reservation at Metro Dental Clinic (4th flr. Robinsons Cybergate Cebu branch) and boy it was worth every penny! I would totally recommend this clinic to everyone.

The doctor turned on the television while preparing her apparatuses for my oral prophylaxis. She was also very informative while gently cleaning every portion of my teeth. What I enjoyed most was this particular equipment which squirts water in your mouth and sucks the water back right after you close your mouth! The silly kid in me. Hahaha!

Break the Silence

I personally admire the works of Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme, Inc (GVSP) for their big effort in supporting our deaf community and our sexually abused community (whether it be a child, a woman or even a man). If you guys are unaware of what is happening to our society now, 65-70% of deaf boys and girls are being molested and is still continues to rise according to studies conducted by the Philippine Deaf Resource Center.

I have been very athletic lately and recently went back to marathon runs (will share more about my runs on my next few posts). Unfortunately, as much as I would love to join Break the Silence Run, my work is in total conflict with the schedule; however, my heart and soul is in full support with this cause so I encourage you guys to join  forces and fight sexual abuse!

As what I have posted few days ago, I will be joining METAFIT Boot Camp starting this weekend moving forward. It is going to be a month full of running, yoga, exercises and alot more so I will need to prepare for this challenging event.

All roads lead to the Queen City of the South as Cebu becomes the official home of this year’s Globe Run4Home, one of the biggest and most awaited running events in the country with the many innovations it pioneered in Philippine marathon history.

The Globe Run4Home 2012 races to the Cebu International Convention Center on March 25, 2012 gathering not only the running community of Cebu, but also its legion of running aficionados in Manila and key cities nationwide to celebrate a common cause: help provide sustainable shelter to those in need, especially victims of Typhoon Sendong.

Globe taps previous Run4Home beneficiaries Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity Philippines to help raise funds for their housing development projects for the typhoon victims in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro respectively. Completing the roster of partner-beneficiaries are Cebu Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, a Cebu-based organization that aims to transform communities in key biodiversity areas into becoming more effective stewards of the environment, and the Philippine Tarsier Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit organization that spearheads a massive campaign to save the Philippine Tarsier and preserve its habitat.

Registration fees per category are P300 for 3K, P400 for 5K, P500 for 10K, P600 for 15K and P700 for 21K, the most affordable registration rate ever in Globe Run4Home history, making the running event more accessible to the growing running community, especially in Cebu. The registration fee entitles runners to their race shirts available in various sizes, race bib number, timing chip, and finisher’s medal for the 21K category. Groupon Philippines Support HIV Awareness

Inaugural G-Team “Deal” signed with The Love Yourself Project (www.loveyourself.ph) and Frenzy condoms

MANILA-- Groupon Philippines (www.groupon.ph) will feature an unprecedented online deal on September 11, 2011 to support The Love Yourself Project, which aims to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Philippines through education and counselling.

The deal, which will go live on September 11, will raise the ‘9-1-1’ emergency signal on the staggering rise of HIV cases in the Philippines. According to a July report from the Department of Health -National Epidemiology Center, the Philippines is in the brink of an epidemic-level spread of HIV. July 2011 registered 204 newly-diagnosed HIV cases, the highest logged in a single month, and a 56% increase compared to the same period last year. The Philippines is 1 of only 7 countries worldwide where HIV cases are increasing.

The deal will allow anyone with internet access to donate to the cause either through a P100 cash donation, a P400 donation which comes with a free Love Yourself t-shirt, and a P1000 donation that entitles Groupon holders to the Love Yourself photo-shoot on September 24, complete with a pre-shoot styling session and a free Love Yourself t-shirt. The deal will run from September 11 and end on September 13.

Frenzy condoms also agreed to match each Groupon sold with an in-kind donation of condoms, which will be distributed during The Love Yourself Project’s various outreach, testing and counselling sessions.

By the way, I just got my Free HIV Test Result yesterday and I'm Non-reactive (NEGATIVE).

I'm HIV Virus free...and this is the reason why I want take the test. To make myself comfortable and not doubt of things that I might or might not have. Now, I am sure HAPPY and CONTENT! Are you?

So please be safe always and don't be afraid to get a test for any sickness for that matter because there are cure once detected early! Don't wait for that time that you have no option because it's too late for cure. Guys, please learn to love yourself.

Back Pack Family Fun Run with Derek Ramsey and Miriam Quiambao

Who among our friends and sponsors from Cebu enjoy a challenging run? How about running for charities and causes?

Cebu City has been known to have the second largest running community. Almost every weekend in Cebu is booked with running events, may it be running to support causes or charity runs to raise funds for certain activities and organizations.

We are inviting all Cebuanos and running enthusiasts to join this fun run for a cause this coming March 13, 2011, 4:30AM at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu. There will also be fun-filled activities for the little ones! Bring your family and friends to this fun-filled event and get a chance to meet World Vision celebrity sponsors, Derek Ramsey and Miriam Quiambao!
