Be Beautiful, Be LOHAS

Be Beautiful, Be LOHAS
Be Beautiful, Be LOHAS
As an athlete and a traveler, I somehow overlook my skin's health and as much as you want to go to a facial spa, you also try to consider the quality that you get without harming your wallet. On top of that, we prefer going thru a less painful process. Oh yes, you know how painful it can get when they start pricking the nose area and other sensitive part of your face.

I have been exploring a couple of great skin care establishments for a while now and they have their asset associated to the mission and vision of their business, but I would have to give a huge kudos to LOHAS Skin and Slimming for their one-of-a-kind service and top notched technologies. I personally am impressed with their technology that scrubs away your black and white heads. This is the alternative way of the painful pricking and shoveling. LOHAS Skin and Slimming is the only facial spa that has this technology.

I went thru a consultation a week ago and was recommended to get their Aqua Spiral Thereapy that undergoes 3 solutions: deep cleansing; oil control; and antioxidant. What's good with LOHAS is that their products are proven and tested and is suitable to any type of skin. Definitely  the home of beauty and wellness!

You are given your own private room that will give you a more relaxing experience without the disturbance of other clients.

Now I'm ready to face my everyday activities! I'm also looking forward to try their BMC (Break. Melt. Countour.) non-invasive treatment now that I have enrolled back to the gym for another year. More details about BMC on my next posts. I personally recommend their services to everyone and would also like to congratulate LOHAS for winning the Best of Cebu 2014 for their Facial Services.

Now on its ninth year, Make Your Own Havaianas returns to its Brazilian roots. After all, flip-flops were made to perfectly complement the Brazilian vibrant lifestyle: vivacious, expressive, adventurous, and always the life of the party. The thrill in this full-customization event comes in the ability to mix and match everything: from the soles and the straps, to color combinations inspired by street art, and to the fun limited edition pins – this year all exhibiting everything Brazil from the beats to the wildlife, flavors and beaches, to symbols representing summer fun. Classic staples include geometric and crystal pins plus to give some local flavor, a special Cebu pin designed by renowned Cebuano furniture designer Vito Selma will be available.

Inspired by a 200-year old tradition from Brazil, this year’s commemorative pair features colorful Bonfim wish ribbons that are worn for good luck. The print wishes every wearer Alegria, Diversao, Empolgacao, Euforia, and Felicidade or Joy, Amusement, Excitement, Euphoria and Bliss – true to the Havaianas “always summer” spirit.

Havaianas encourages everyone to be as daring as the Brazilians when customizing their flip-flops. “Brazilian culture is all about self expression, and not being ashamed of how vividly you express it.” Anne Gonzalez, Terry SA Managing Director shares with Brand Development Group Director Ammiel De Leon adding, “Think of how the Brazilians would do it—always bold and fun in style and a natural stand out.”

As you enter this year’s Make Your Own Havaianas Brazilian Carnavale, come in your most festive always summerattires and allow the Brazilian roots of Havaianas to unleash the creativity in you. Then flaunt it, the Brazilian way.

I have already decided my design thru http://myoh.havaianasphilippines.com. See photo below for my pair. You should start customizing your pair too before the big day. Trust me, it will save you time.

Nearly 10,000 Filipino families celebrated as one during the Jollibee Family Bee Day, held simultaneously in Manila, Pampanga, Laguna, Cebu and Davao.

***
Close to 2,000 Cebuanos gathered with their family and friends last May 10 to be part of the Jollibee Family Bee Day held at Plaza Independencia.

Dubbed as the grandest family picnic ever, the outdoor event featured fun games, awesome raffle prizes and exciting performances top-billed by young stars such as Gerald Anderson and Julie Ann San Jose. Rock band Sponge Cola also got the Cebuanos singing and dancing on their feet.

Apart from the game booths and side activities, picnic-goers posed for and captured picture-perfect moments by the giant picnic basket and photo frame installations.

The Jollibee Family Bee Day was mounted by the country’s number of fast-food chain in five venues. Apart from Cebu, it was also staged at Quirino Grandstand in Manila, Bayanihan Park in Pampanga, Nuvali football grounds in Laguna, and Crocodile Park in Davao with about 10,000 people in attendance.

“The Jollibee Family Bee Day is our way of uniting Filipinos nationwide as one family,” said Jollibee Philippines Vice President for Marketing Harvey Ong. “It is a grand celebration of what family truly means to us Filipinos. Apart from those we’re related by blood to, family also include the people nearest and dearest to our hearts.”

The Search for Miss Scuba Philippines 2014

Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 in Cebu
The Search for Miss Scuba Philippines 2014
I personally believe that water is life and there is a reason why 70% of the world is water. I lived in a place where splashes of the sea wakes you every morning for about 21 years and I know how it feels if your main source of food (the sea) is damaged. Yes, my family had that moment and was a good eye-opener for us to be more conscious with our action and the environment.

The Search of Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 is a great opportunity for all the ladies out there who have the heart for the ocean. Please be reminded that the minimum requirement is at least the interested applicant knows how to dive.

Please read through the Press Release below for more details.

***
The search is on for the country’s representative to be the next Miss Scuba International 2014.

This year’s national search, Miss Scuba Philippines, will be held at the Pacific Cebu Resort managed by sáv Hospitality in Mactan, Cebu on the 26th of September.

The winner will then represent the Philippines in this year’s international pageant to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on the 28th of November.

The Miss Scuba International pageant started in 2011 and is founded by Mr Robert Lo who is a strong believer in sustainable development within the realms of the marine environment.

Lo hopes that through this pageant, it will enable more people to understand how fragile the oceans are and how to make a big difference by protecting it.

Pacific Cebu Resort Acting Hotel Manager Mr. Reynold Belandres said that “this one-of-a-kind pageant promotes scuba diving and ocean preservation while celebrating the inner beauty and courage of today’s women.”

Belandres added that the pageant also aims to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training organizations, and to elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation.

The winning delegate of Miss Scuba International 2014 will undergo an intensive year-long ocean conservation campaigns to educate and inspire everyone in safeguarding the oceans.

Durian Halo-Halo in Cebu - Frozen Snack Bar

Frozen Snack Bar proudly promotes their best-seller Durian Halo-Halo!
Frozen Snack Bar proudly promotes their best-seller Durian Halo-Halo!
A big HELLO to my dear readers who are originally from Davao and are now working/living in Cebu, your smiles must be up to your ears right now. Hahaha!

I have traveled back and forth to Davao and with my (more or less) 4 months of exploring Davao, I saw how the Davaoeños eager for more Durian inspired delicacies. They understand that liking Durian is an acquired taste. So, they incorporate Durian with different products to be more salable  and customer-taste-friendly such as candies, ice cream, coffee (which I absolutely love!), cakes, halo-halo and so much more!

(Check out my Davao travels here.)

I prefer my Durian straight from the fruit and frozen. Unlike processed products, it still gives you the original flavor of what Durian tastes like. Chilling/freezing only lessens the aroma of the fruit. With that, I would like to share what Frozen Snack Bar has to offer.

Tonkatsu by Terazawa now in Cebu

Tonkatsu by Terazawa now open in Ayala Center Cebu!
The reason why I love travelling, aside from learning other culture, is to widen my culinary horizons with new food and taste. I must admit, I was born with a family orientation that 'whatever is in the table, you it' and that is basically how I role. Friends normally call my tummy a black hole because I simply eat-and-eat-and-eat. I guess for me, it is simply black and white per Chef Gusteau (from the movie, Ratatouille) saying: 'I don't like food; I LOVE it. If I don't love it, I don't SWALLOW.'

Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream Cake! A must try!!!
Though I'm lucky enough that a Japanese friend of mine gave some tips while we ate at Tonkatsu in Ayala Center Cebu. We both got the Chef's specialty which was the Kurobuta Rosu Katsu and I must say that it was crispilicious! It was just well cooked and you just want to eat more and more. I almost forgot that they give you rice and shredded cabbage until you remember what gluttony means. Lol! Their Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream Cake is also a must try!

Everything inside this restaurant is just wonderfully packaged and want you to visit them again and again! More photos below.
