Have you ever wished that Krispy Kreme would open in Cebu? Well, you don't need to wish for that because they have officially stated that they will be opening in Cebu with not just one store, but 2 stores!!!

Krispy Kreme Launching in Cebu

During the Krispy Kreme soft launching, it has been revealed that Krispy Kreme Cebu has always been a distant plan of Krispy Kreme Team...and now it will finally come to progress for Krispy Kreme will be officially in Cebu on the month of October 2011.

We had the best time with Krispy Kreme Team while singing the night away! Mr. Mark and Ms. Amor had a blast and showed off their singing prowess. See a quick video below:

Of course, it was me who first started singing. LOL! Well, for a month supply of Krispy Kreme -- hell yeah I would sing and I will sing loud and PROUD!!! For more info, you can check Krispy Kreme in Cebu.

It was a great night indeed! Food, drinks and Krispy Kreme doughnuts were everywhere! Despite me loosing my wallet with Php 2,000.00 , my ATM and the customized ENJOY Card, I was able to get a whole month supply of Krispy Kreme. If I try to calculate that I would get more than what I lost. So I guess I'll be eating Krispy Kreme for the whole month of October. Hahahaha!
I LOVE KRISPY KREME
And the best Krispy Kreme Photo goes to CBS!

CINEMA EVALUATION BOARD
Summation of CEB members’ comments on
“ZOMBADINGS I: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington”
Grade: A
Origin8 Media, Inc.

ZOMBADINGS 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington is a thoroughly entertaining and hilarious film. It is “an offbeat comedy that presents a very different story — one which Philippine cinema needs” in these days when formulaic films dominate the movie fare of today. The young filmmakers are to be congratulated for this “enjoyable and original concept which wasn’t afraid to take it to its humorous extremes.”

The film is awarded an 'A'; it is an “incredible achievement with an amusing and rare synergy of horror, comedy, satire and drama.” Director Jade Castro delivers a “well-executed film.” The unpredictability of ZOMBADINGS is commendable although it tried to send “too many messages.” Castro, however, is still successful in “capturing the nuances of the transformation of Remington” with apparent ease.

The screenplay in general is “very good and could have been funnier if it was more focused.” Several reviewers commented that “the zombies were actually not that necessary and could have been edited down; nevertheless, they do serve to accentuate the ridiculous nature of the situation.”

The starting premise is “quite new and interesting, but things fell flat in the middle (due to the many sub-plots) but luckily, the script picked up in the end.” “There were enough funny lines and unusual but well established situations — both helped by excellent performances.”

The editing is “crisp, clear, succinct and effective.” “There is no wasted footage.” The cinematography is “textured” and together with the production design, provides the fitting rustic backdrop of the film. The Quezon setting is perfectly suited to the story and treatment. Both the musical score and the sound are “well done, especially the simple but appropriate sound effects.”

Finally, it is the acting in ZOMBADINGS that was unanimously praised by the CEB reviewers. “Overall, the acting performances are laudable with no pretentiousness at all and are enhanced by the characterization drawn clearly by the scriptwriters.”

Mart Escudero gets the majority of the high marks. “Mart is a revelation!” “Escudero is excellent and thoroughly convincing in both his straight and gay roles without making either role a caricature.” His gradual transformation from a macho suitor to a reluctant gay to a complete bakla is a marvel. He is truly a brave actor for letting it all out for his art. His dance number is a laugh-out-loud performance and so are his suddenly gay-speaking scenes and the “romantic” scene with Jigs at the staircase.

The supporting cast provides great support: Janice de Belen is very much in character, John Regala seems to be really enjoying himself and even Kerbie Zamora is a natural. Some members commented though that Eugene Domingo could have been utilized more aside from her being the sad/merry skating widow. The actors are “all good and they have the ability to laugh at themselves without ridiculing the third sex.”

ZOMBADINGS is a “fun movie with competent direction remarkable comic timing.” “Undeniably, the film is worthy of the favorable critical attention that it will surely reap.”

To paraphrase Kermit the Frog: it’s not easy being gay, but this film shows it surely is a lot of fun!

SYNOPSIS:
Remington likes Hannah but she doesn't seem to care for him. He isn't worried, though. After all he is young, handsome, and self-assured. And, being out of school and without a job, he has all the time in the world to woo her until she submits to his charms.

No such luck.

All she sees when she looks at him is a bum and a fool. Apathetic and uncouth, lacking ambition and oozing chauvinism, he represents for her the worst of their generation of excellent underachievers.

Then slowly, involuntarily, he starts changing when a faceless, malevolent spirit dressed as a go-go boy starts paying him nightly visits.

First, he attacks Remington's body with a sharp bladed weapon. The next day Hannah can't help but notice his immaculate shave and baby-smooth skin.

Next the ghost sticks a fist inside Remington's mouth and stretches out his tongue. The next day he starts peppering his sentences with riotous gayspeak which tickles Hannah's depressive mother no end. He also suddenly takes to wearing small, body-hugging tops and jeans that emphasize his lean body and make Hannah do a double take.

In short, Remington is turning gay! And he doesn't know how or why this is happening. But at least now he has Hannah's attention and growing admiration. After the ghost's next visit, though, Remington starts caring less and less for her and more and more for his best friend, Jigs. Just as Hannah starts falling for him, he falls for Jigs!

Remington knows that something is terribly and unspeakably wrong, something he can neither explain nor fight. He consults a witch doctor. It all comes back to him.

Memories of himself as a six-year old boy who made fun of all the gays in town come rushing back. Most importantly he remembers the moment he was cursed. Accompanying his mother to the cemetery one day, he spots a gay man in mourning and promptly starts taunting him. The man turns to little Remington and puts a curse on him: "You will turn gay when you grow up."

That was fifteen years ago; now the spirit of the curse has come to life.

Remington must choose: accept his fate, like his sorry lazy ass is wont to do, or fight it.

In the process he must also sort out his feelings for the girl he loves and the buddy he's all of a sudden lusting after, come to terms with his homophobia, and escape a psycho gay-killer on the loose.

Whether or not he succeeds he is forever changed. By becoming a better person, Remington has finally turned into a real man.

Davao Escapades and Tips (Day 2 Tour)

Davao Escapade Day 1...
Basti's Brew Coffee Station in Davao...

My apologies for the delay of this post. I got so busy with life/work and had a dilemma of not knowing what things to do first. Good thing I was browsing some of my photos and saw my scuba diving experience in Sta. Ana Wharf, Davao City. So here I go finishing this post to finally lessen the backlogs on my list.

Anyways, as I was saying during my last Davao post, which was in Basti's Brew Coffee Station:
"We had a great conversation...and I aslo found out that Blogie and his friend go scuba diving regularly. How lucky could I get? I guess I have my Day 2 all covered up now!"
Yes, Blogie just invited me to try diving and the dive training since it will be my first time. Ofcourse, I said YES! It has been a dream to try diving... Hopefully, sooner or later, I will be getting my license to dive in deep oceans.

the sign I just did means 'okay'

I did learn a lot. More details of my scuba diving experience on the next posts. Cheers!

Davao Escapade Day 1...

Since day 1 was so packed of good things, I told myself that day 2 in Davao should be relaxing. Unfortunately, I had no clue on what to do on my 2nd day in Davao. My plan was to go Scuba Diving; however, the agency I called a week before my flight backed out because of an unknown reason. I went out to grab a good booze of coffee at Basti's Brew Coffee Station at Victoria Plaza which was suggested to me by Blogie (Ang Dabawenyo).

I arrived there seeing the place full packed. Blogie and his friends were also there. They gave me a warm welcome and I helped myself with a nice warm Basti's Brew coffee and a Bolognese.

No wonder this is Blogie's favorite coffee shop. It was the best hot coffee I've ever tasted so far! The prices are affordable too. The place have a diners area, a coffee area for, a smoking area and the outside area if you want to feel the breeze of fresh air. Clean and very welcoming. This is definitely my favorite coffee shop in Davao.

We had a great conversation...and I aslo found out that Blogie and his friend go scuba diving regularly. How lucky could I get? I guess I have my Day 2 all covered up now!

Tibiao Fish Spa (Mobile) in Cebu

Just what a dying feet needs, a foot spa! If my feet were alive, they would definitely live my body because I abuse them too much. Good thing that Tibiao Fish Spa is about to open in Cebu!!! How awesome is that!?
I Love Tibiao Fish Spa
I've heard a lot of things about the said spa and they are doing great in Iloilo and Antique where their main branch is located. I just wish they will open as soon as possible for I believe that this kind of market is new and will gather the crowd and make it a viral necessity to everyone. Check out Tibiao Fish Spa Experience.

Tibiao Fish Spa (Mobile) in Cebu

Located just inside Parkmall in Mandaue, you will see the Tibiao Fish Spa Mobile Station that they created for a trial market in Cebu. We, without any second thought, tried it and it was so much fun and relaxing. How much more if they actually have their own place with matching Sauna area where you can read books and bring food (just like in the States and some sauna in Manila) and a complete category of massages. Ohhhhhhhhh...I could just imagine!

I had so much fun! I also had the chance to talk to the owner of the said business, Mr. Flord Nicson Calawag, and I was amazed how imaginative this guys is and how he welcomed some of my suggestions and what cam out into my mind while I was imagining their place to be installed in Cebu. BTW, this guy is still very young with the age of 24, this guys will definitely go far! Just amazing!

It's Mensiversary, Not Monthsary

I've heard this word from my teacher when I was still in Elementary, Mensiversary.
However, people were just too viral to make their own word and made it a popular (common) word to all the lovers, Monthsary!

I don't know where and how it started, but I must say that it's easy to retain in the head. I would undoubtedly assume that Filipinos made this word up based on all the Google searches which shows Filipino bloggers and blogs that talks about the word Monthsary.

From Latin words "mensis" for months and combining the word "versary"...there came to exist the word "Mensiversary"!
Happy 1st Mensiversary

For that I say happy, happy 1st Mensiversary to you and I am so blessed to have you in my life! Each and every second you make me love you for who you are and I am blessed by the trust that you give me. Thank you for letting me in to your life. I love you and I will always cherish you.      - Idol

Davao Escapades and Tips (Day 1 Tour)

It was a long dream of going to Davao City! I've heard from friends and even news that it is one of the best places to settle down and has a 0% crime rate if I'm not mistaken. So I actually booked myself a flight going to Davao on the 2nd week of July. I was there for 4days and 3 nights and it was the best tour ever! Everything fell into places and the time was just to perfect for everything! Lord is just too amazing to give me these opportunities.

Also, I really tried myself to minimize my expenses, but I couldn't! There are so many things that you need to experience in Davao City! Honestly!!! So, I won't make it any longer and let's start with the details.

I went to the airport an hour before my flight to avoid the crowd and went straight to the Cebu Pacific area then paid for the terminal fee (Php 200.00).
Boarding to Davao
It was quite a fast and lax setting. After an hour I just accomplished one of my dream and had my first step to Davao City!
Welcome to Davao City
I immediately left the airport and went straight to Green Windows Dormitel which I absolutely suggest if you are on a tight budget or if you are traveling by yourself. Green Windows has everything that you'll be looking for in a hotel. In addition, they have this promo for backpackers which is only Php 188.00 / night. It's SUPER CHEAP!!! If you need more information about the said dormitel, check this link: Green Windows Dormitel.

I had my lunch at Lachi's with Raissa and Ria and boy it was fantastic! I will definitely come back here when I go back to Davao! Thanks Ria and Raissa for your time ;) For more info about the said restaurant, check this link: Lachi's Restaurant in Davao.
Big Smiles After our Lachi's Experience
(Ria, Rabsin and Raissa at Lachi's)
Even if I was really full, I went straight ahead to Zip City to experience ziplining in Davao and it was freakin awesome!!! The view was great and my inverted pose ROCK! If you want to see my inverted pose, check this link: Ziplining at Zip City.

Lastly, I went to Davao Crocodile Park which was the best way indeed to end my day. I promised myself to go back there! I must watch that crazy firedance show again! It was freakin' AWESOME!!!

I left Davao Crocodile Park with my huge smile! It was such a great night indeed! Davao just rocked my world!

Day 2 soon...

Experience Davao Crocodile Park

I could say this is one of the best places I've been to in Davao!!! I can't believe how awesome this place is! Until now my mind is still reminiscing the things that I have experience in this wonderful place.

Experience Crocodile Park in Davao

Davao Crocodile Park
Right after experiencing zipline at Zip City, I went straight to the Crododile Park hoping that I won't be late for their show. Fortunately, I just arrived on time with the Crocodile Show. I was able to take a quick video during the show:

It was amazing! We also had the chance to take a picture with the animals inside the Park.
Eagle in Davao Crocodile Park

Albino Python in Davao Crocodile Park

FYI, this isn't the best part yet!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a video of the firedance show. The Firedance Show was THE BEST!!! I promised myself to watch that firedance performance again! So I'll see you soon Davao Crocodile Park.
