My Year Ender

Farewell 2009 and say hello to 2010! Only a couple of hours left now to welcome ourselves to the year of the Tiger. 2009 has been a fast pase for me. It was just March of this year where I finished my bachelor degree and hastely went looking for work. I never even had the chance and take some time to relax after a stressful student life.

However, I never imagined myself to be determined enough to actually survive in the REAL WORLD...and I would like to give credit to my parents and my siblings for it...and most especially to The One and Only! I owe You everything!

In addition, I would like to take this oportunity to thank the Cebu Bloggers Society for making me part of the family. To Mark, for being the first person I got along really well during my first meet up with the group. To Beejing, for inviting me to The Digital Filipino Club Event where I first met the group. To Van John, for introducing me to the rest of the CBS members. To Prince, for being once a good friend. To Miong, for making me jealous of his skimboard moves. To Mikyu, for being such an awesome and trusted friend. To Bryan, for having this style of writing that keeps me reading his entries. To Guada, for simply being KIATAN (we actually have lot of things in common). To Ethelbert, for being my stress releiver, mentor and counselor. To Clado, for leading me back to writing songs and poetry. To Timoy, for inviting us to such amazing Bluewater events! To Orville, for giving me some SEO tips. To Wilhelmina, for having the same love for writing. To Doyzkie, for inviting me to ILearners events. To Jorich, for your funny GMs. To Sinjin, for being one of the person I look up to. To Mcbilly, for spending time with the group despite his busy schedule. To JanMck, Jorich and Jose, for being easy to get along with. To Noel, for being such a head turner...nyahaha! To Pibi, for giving me once a bloodrush...lol! (Karun pa mo ani noh? Nyahaha! This was during the UP cookout.) To Zyza, for being a senseful textmate and for the hide and seek moment at SM. LOL! To X, for simply being X! To Agnes, for being imaginative. To Zyra, for liking my crush entries...nyahaha! To Kai, for being a KAREOKE QUEEN!!! Nyahaha! To everyone that was not mentioned, you better get active ASAP! LOL! Seriously, thank you for being part of the group!

I would also like to thank my friends online, Dumaguete friends, plurkmates, followers, visitors and to everyone! THANK YOU!!!

BTW, I'll be opening a new site next year! Thanks to Estan!!! It will coincide with my birthday so stay tune for upcoming details. Cheers!

Christmas Evaulation

It has been a while since I have written a personal entry since I've been here to Cebu and damn I miss this kind of writing. I have noticed that most of my entries here are events that I have been to...and it somehow defeats the real purpose of my blog.

Anyway, my family is doing okay so far. Yes, we were not able to celebrate Christmas at home but we celebrated it together...and that is the best Christmas wish I got.

Mom and dad is getting stronger each and every second (I don't know how they do it...lol! Probably they are just meant for each other) My brother is getting the hang of his work as a nurse. I think he's doing really GREAT with his field. For my sister, she is outstanding...just fantastic! She actually have the capacity to go beyond her limit and can do what ever she wants to do...I just don't know what's stopping her. Is it because of us? I just don't know...

Me... O boy...sigh...

I've been trying to evaluate myself lately...and I must say, I'm not doing okay...

Okay, I'll give you a sitch. The real reason why I created this blog was to deviate myself through writing (and make myself busier) from my sickness ever since High School...I don't know how...it just happens...and I hate it! It seems that temptations just keeps knocking on my door.

...and the past few days had so many twist and turn...I don't even know where to start. I know I could say NO but something just wants to say yes!

I definitely need to control myself and learn how to say NO. Why do I need to please each and every person I meet!? I just don't get it...and it just goes naturally in my system. Take a look at my previous entry: PEOPLE PLEASER. This might help you guys understand what I am trying to say.

My mind is kind of mixed up right now. I don't know what I want or need... I need my good friend's guidance right now...Daisy, where are you? I'm drowning! HELP!

Keso de Gallo by Kraft Eden

Last Dec 23, 2009 right after the Dawn Mass (Misa de Gallo), we, the Cebu Bloggers Society was invited to join and celebrate the Keso de Gallo by Kraft Eden Cheese.

Keso de Gallo is a nationwide event that goes with the 9 days Simbang Gabi. It showcases Noche Buena dishes and with Eden, it will definitely change the people's perception of a Noche Buena dish.

This will be held in different towns including Bacolod City, Butuan City, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu City, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Naga, and Pamapanga...and I am glad to be part of the said event here in Cebu.

The Creator of Maja Con KesoThe theme of Keso de Gallo is "Nutritious, Delicious, Affordable" and the winner for Cebu was the extraordinary Maja of a Cebuana teacher, the Mixed Vegetable Maja Con Keso. Who would imagine a delicious maja like this is composed of ordinary and affordable recipes like squash, mongo, carrots, ubi, and eden cheese.

Below are videos where Kraft Eden is being introduced and how Keso de Gallo started and what are the objectives of the said event. The winner in Cebu was also highlighted on this video and how she made ordinary recipes to its fullest, and most delicious Maja.

Keso de Gallo by Kraft Eden - Part 1

Keso de Gallo by Kraft Eden - Part 2

Mixed Vegetable Maja Con KesoI had the chance to interview the winner and she said she was really lucky! She never expected to win Keso de Gallo. In fact, she almost lost hope in joining the contest because she was informed late and had a limited time to prepare the ingredients that she needs.Enjoying Maja Con Keso Fortunately, she was able to identify her ingredients on time. She only had one week to perfect her master piece, The Mixed Vegetable Maja Con Keso. She makes one in the morning and let her students and her co-teachers taste it then let them have comments about it, and another one in the afternoon while taking notes of the comments. It has been a one week critisism about the master peice...and on the final day, it has finally been perfected! The MASTER PEICE was ready for Keso de Gallo!

Keso de Gallo - Mixed Vegetable Maja Con KesoYou don't actually need to pay so much just to have a yummy nutritious foods for Noche Buena, just get what you have in your backyard and be imaginative and create your own Noche Buena dish!

A Review on the movie AVATAR

The World of Avatar

Honestly, I was not expecting Avatar to be a fantastic movie! SUPER AWESOME!

My brother, sister and I was actually waiting for a different movie where Avatar was also its title in anime; however its movie is entitled The Last Air Bender. Anyway, We gave it a shot and bought 3 tickets to enter the world of Avatar!

Basically, the synopsis of the movie is about a man named Jake who found the meaning of life in the world of Avatar, Pandora. He learned to love their way of living and their culture...

The most unforgettable sentence in the movie: I see you.
It means that you just don't see someone physically but the totality of it...his heart...his soul. Usually lovers tell this to each other.

The animation was just outstanding! The world of Avatar was just amazing! Somehow, I wanted to be in their place and feels how to be part of them... The movie highlighted their passion to protect and love Mother Nature, Eywah as they call it.

I cant find the words to say how amazing the movie is...if the movie is just a person that I may be able to talk to, I would indubitably say, I see you.

I just want you guys to watch the movie, Enter the World of Avatar and you may leave a comment here if I was just wasting my time writing this entry or not.

Passionata: Let us Celebrate our Cultural Heritage

Passionata ConcertNovember 30, 2009, I was given the privilege to watch the concert, Passionata. I was really excited about the concert especially that I am most inclined to music more than anything and it is a Cultural Heritage Celebration that showcase the Cebuano and Filipino talents.

The concert gave emphasis to the Cebu Chamber Singers and the Mandaue City Children's Choir and It was just OUTSTANDING!

The Cebu Chamber Singers' moved me with their Africa-American version of the song, 'Circle of Life'. It was one of the best songs!

Cebu Chamber Singers - Circle of Life (Africa-America)

The Mandaue City Children's Choir is amazing! They are truly worthy to be part of the concert! The songs performed by the choir that I loved so much were 'Ambo Hato' and 'Ummah Sallih'. Very young children yet with great potential...very lucky children indeed.

Mandaue City Children's Choir - Ambo Hato

Mandaue City Children's Choir - Ummah Sallih

Here are some videos of the said concert, Passionata:

Cebu Chamber Singers - Sigulempong (Indonesia)

Mandaue City Children's Choir - Bochong and Pokpok Alimpako

Passionata - Matud Nila

Passionata - Pasayawa Ko Day

The concert was deeply a joy to my heart. Hopefully, God will give me the chance to showcase what I really longed for since childhood. Just be patient... It will come...soon.

Kiatan.com's Birthday Celebration

November 29, Saturday, I had a plan to stay at home. I wanted to prison myself to minimize spending and to spare time doing something else aside from going outside and morning the night.

However, it didn't go as planned due to Guada together with Junrey and Orville! She called up at around 10pm to invite me for her pre-birthday celebration...and I couldn't say no...that is because they won't start the party if I will not come. So, do I even have a choice?

We had a bottle of tequila at Brews Point while enjoying the never ending Birthday greeting of the band! We also had 2 servings of sisig. It was delicious!
Blizzard at Numero Doce
Junrey, Guada and the BlizzardAfter, we headed to Numero Doce and tried their Blizzard. It tasted like chewing gum, but it definitely blew my mind away! We also showed some dance moves while finishing every drop of it. I must say, Doce has a great taste in music!

Then we went at Casanova to drink a set of Red Horse and chill.
