The Last Goodbye - Winner

Congratulations!!! There is already a winner for my simple contest! Thank you and congratulations.

The Last Goodbye

A poetry to reflect on. I'm really not sure what category this poetry belongs and it really kinda suck, but what the heck...here it goes:

The Last Goodbye

Please let me free
Right now, I'm okay and over you
It did took me some time and assurances, but now i can see
Nevertheless, I will always be a friend to you
Count on that my friend
Except, if you don't want to
Rude words I've thrown, hope you can forgive
You who badmouth and think false
Apology I'm asking is pure, please believe
Not like others who commits the same things again
God knows my love was real, but now
It's gone for you to feel
Love comes and goes
It's up to you to brag its moment, because
Goodbyes' door will always be open.

Because of this poetry, I'll be having a contest. Yes, a CONTEST for everyone! There is something in this poetry, a password or a code that needs to be unlocked. Whatever it is, that's yours to discover.

There will be a price for the contest don't worry (I'll update this blog this weekend for the price), but for now let's talk about it's process:
  • Answers thru YM (no any other way)
  • My YM is rabsin_d

Good luck!

Simple Action Counts: The Jeepney Driver

It was right after work when I hastily went into this jeepney going home. Nothing was really amusing in the jeepney since everyone looks tired and sleepy because it was almost midnight. Until the the jeepney driver made a simple action that made me to write this entry.

I noticed most of the jeepney drivers don't follow the traffic lights, especially at night or when no vehicles are conflicting, but not this driver, and it amazed me ALOT!

I suddenly remembered my mom saying 'Simple action counts in Him even if no one knows or care...' She was a great believer on the saying; however, I still lose my track on it.

Well, I just want to commend this jeepney driver for doing this simple act yet is a BIG impact to everyone (most people just do not notice its significance). Who ever you are, THANK YOU!

People Pleaser

I was mostly with Daisy, a very special friend, during my weekend in Dumaguete. We went to the different places we used to go and discovered some new places too.

We got really close because we are so similar...from personality to life to experiences. Most of them are the same and we share the same thoughts; however, she can express herself better than I do. We help and give advices to each other through our hard times and understand our shortcomings.

I just want to say thank you for being a good friend and one of the best friends I met.

After enjoying the weekend, Daisy told me that I was a people pleaser...and right there I realized she was totally right! All this time, I am indeed try to please everyone, but I actually didn't intend to do so. It just goes out naturally. I don't forcefully change myself to please anyone, it simply adjusts by its own. Is this what they are trying to say being flexible in making friends..?

However, I also realized that it can cause damage to me...since people often misunderstand lots of things...it's inevitable.

For now, I'm just glad my family is okay and have lots of real and good friends to count on.

Wish everyone good health and God speed!

Letting Go

 (Last Sunday, September 13, 2009)

It was a blue Sunday morning. My parents where here in Cebu to visit my sister, my brother and I. We were completely united...yet my heart was no where to be found.

We went to Church together since it has been a long time since we went to church all together...and the priest spoke the words that enlightened my heart and my mind: Letting go is the only key...

And there I was reflecting and understanding what the phrase was...and now I understood.

After Church, my parents went back to our hometown, Dumaguete City...and I went out to meet a good friend. We watched a movie which was supposedly funny, but I burst my heart out during watching the movie. I never thought letting go of someone very special would be pulling your heart out. To this friend, THANK YOU!

...and to this someone, you had your chances and you let it go away. I made a fool out of myself just for you... Someone told me that you love me and gave me some proof of conversations. Now I know what you feel, but I just don't understand why you're denying everything in front of me. You are so good when it comes to texting or chatting, but when it comes face-to-face you stumble. You might regret when I find someone else...

You want to play? Okay, let's play. I know your game now...You want to flurt, lust, and the like... I can do that, probably even better than you do...but now with no strings attached. Dare me!

From this day on, I'll be seeing you as a friend...

Sorry for being drunk tonight...but you made me do this...

BALAMBAN LIEMPO: A Critique on the Liempo from the West

Liempo has been an intrigue to me when I resided here in Cebu, since there was no liempo or haven't seen any 'for sale' in my hometown, Dumaguete City for that matter.

The first liempo I tasted was Andoks...and I may say it was delicious at first, but after trying 2-3 times, I noticed that there were inconsistencies on how they make their liempo...and it's so easy for them to do such inconsistencies probably because they don't have any competitor.

Balamban LiempoThen, Balamban Liempo arises. Together with the Cebu Bloggers Society, we invaded Balamban Liempo which is located directly in front of the University of Southern Philippines (USP) c/o Dhara's Tapsilogan, Salinas Drive, Lahug.

...and now my critique begins...

Bias it may seem, but I always love the idea of a simple yet outstanding quality of goods and services that business could give to its customer no matter how big or small the business is.

They started serving the food together with a basket full of puso and a bottle of vinegar (it was the native vinegar made from coconut).

My mind was slowly put to gear bite after bite...

I noticed 3 unique tastes in their sumptuous liempo of Balamban (good for 3-4 persons):
  1. The crispy Balamban liempo skin that shows off its brittleness in your mouth every time you take a bite.
  2. The well cooked fat portion of the Balamban liempo extracts a juicy liquid that makes you salivate.
  3. The tender meat that plays around your mouth and gives you a never-ending desire to grab more.
...and together with its secret herbs and ingredients , it will definitely blow your minds out!

Liempo of Balamban
In addition, we had the chance to have a short chit-chat with Jojo Vergara, the owner of the business while his wife, Honey - the chef, was busy with the liempo...and assured their customers that what they serve is fresh from the grill.

Now, let's see if that promise, or I may say the assurance, of the owner is not just any mambo jumbo. Till the next time we meet.

An update to my never ending urges to eat Balamban Liempo:

December 9, 2009

It was just last week where I had the chance to buy another Balamban liempo and was able to let my siblings taste the food I was flaunting for a very long time...and they threw a positive feedback! They LOVE Liempo from the West!!!

Balamban Liempo is definitely a ring in the ear for most of the people in Cebu now and I'm proud of this food!!!

We will undoubtedly be celebrating our Christmas with BALAMBAN LIEMPO!
