Tsunami Alert Incident in Cebu

To be honest, I really don't know if I would just laugh about what just happened yesterday or something to be sadden about...but I really don't want to get into the emotional impact of what happened here. I just want to share some photos and a video I took from yesterday terrifying incident.
Taken during the said 6.8 earthquake. People went straight to  the open ground of IT Park Cebu.
Even if the buildings were declared safe, the employees were advised to take a day off and go home.

Everyone was calling their loved ones and making sure if they were okay. However, before the earthquake commotion was about to fade; people from outside IT Park (the crossing where taxis enter IT Park area and the opposite building, Waterfront) suddenly went running and saying that the tsunami has now reached Colon area.
People started running. A friend asked one lady why she was running and she said: 'She doesn't know'.
Taxis and other vehicles don't want to get any passengers because of the Tsunami rumors.
More people running...

He's trying to get a taxi, but he couldn't.

People used the whole the the fire incident few days ago to evacuate their homes.
They made another whole to hasten the evacuation (See how fresh those broken blocks on the ground).

Below is a short video I took and you can literally hear from my voice that I myself was freaking out as well.

See how strong the word of mouth can be. Tsunami is no joke and you can't blame these people why they were running. I just hope people understand to value good source and information before disseminating "sourceless" information. It wasn't a good joke really, good thing the police made an initiative of roaming and shouting that the rumored tsunami isn't true.

I suggest we be more active online or on twitter and follow the news before we react. Keep safe guys and be alert with values!

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) will hold its 13th National Convention of Lawyers on Aprl 7-9 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. This was announced by IBP Executive Vice President and President-elect Roan Libarios.

Invited to keynote the convention is President Noynoy Aquino. Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona, meanwhile, is guest of honor in the National Bench and Bar Dialogue.

A major part of the convention proceedings are lectures on various current legal issues by a panel of experts. In line with the convention theme, the topics lined up include prosecution of human rights cases, law practice management and improving performance in the delivery of justice.

The lectures form part of the IBP’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program and earns participants MCLE credits.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa has issued a circular that allows heads of government agencies, departments, bureaus and offices to authorize their lawyers to attend the convention on official time. A similar circular was issued by Supreme Court spokesperson and Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez in regard to judges, clerks of court and court lawyers.

Identity Fraud: Cyberbullying!

Have you ever tried searching your complete name or your usual username in Google or Yahoo?

Well, you better do it now or you might get astonished (in a negative way) of what you will be seeing.

I was watching GMA, for the first time (I'm a KAPAMILYA!), just to check if they had upgraded their video quality and I was amazed by its new episode called Kablog. It was a new trend in the society (Hahaha! cuz' I got one). Anyhow, one of their topics was cyberbullying and their are many identity damaged and still being damaged because of technological abuse (Hala! SIKAT man d i ko! Lolz) So I decided to search my own name in Google, and guess what kinds of information popped-out aside from my own accounts..? Yes! I am also a victim of Identity fraud. Imagine, I got 2 accounts in friendster well infact I only got 1 account because it's very tiring to update. I sent a message to this copycat and threatened him/her/it to block his/her/its IP address and locate his/her/its address if he/she/it won't delete the fake account. A day after, the account was gone...hoooow!

It was overwhelming and frightening at the same time...just imagine if the account has unreal information that could destroy your career or as a holistic person...I could have been mocked by now.

A Tip for Copycats:

Imitation they say is the best form of flattery, but make sure that imitating someone can benefit you as a person and could not destroy a person's life.
