4th Cebu Bloggers Society Anniversary

As most of my friends know, I'm more updated through twitter (rabsin_d) and if you are following me, I have posted all my appreciation to this group.

So many things has happened and so many things changed. I'm currently focusing with my fashion group, but part of my heart will always be with this group. They changed me to be a better blogger and I have kept every experience I had with them in my treasure box. I am so blessed to be, once upon a time, part of this awesome group. They even invited me during their 4th Anniversary which was an absolute honor for me.

Thank you so much guys! Keep up the fire and God Speed to all!

FinLust's Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2011

Here we go again for another Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2011!!!

I still remember myself writing my entry for Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 and Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010, which my Music Vlog is thankfully apart of (Check my Thank You Speech and a quick interview of Ms. Janette Toral)..and now, I am about to make my 2011 nominees.

Indeed time flies so fast...

Back in 2007, Influential Blogs where more personal...more with life.
In 2008, Influential Blogs where more concern with their audience and what matters to them.
In 2009, Influential Blogs where the young active players in the society...the real people.
In 2010, Influential Blogs where more of passion and identity building and make it a profession.

How about for 2011, What would the Influential Blogs be?

Well, below are my nominees:

1. 365 Vanity Shot Project - started last March of 2011 and I just love it's objective! It's quite common to see a 365 Project that shows photos of different things taken on different places. For this vanity project, it only shows a daily photo of the site's owner with its objective:

This will be a 365 days project showing a daily photo of me. Let's see what will happen to my face a year after....shall we?

Yes, vain indeed! We'll see if the owner gets wrinkles after a year. LOL!

2. iSwallow - inspired by Anton Ego's character in Ratatouille. The site's owner made Anton Ego's quote as the description of this Food Blog:

I don't like food, I LOVE it! If I don't love it, I don't SWALLOW!

3.Even with PKD, Life Goes On - a very inspiring blog by a physician-medical educator-microbiologist who have this PKD. I tried googling about it and it just dismays me how this guy unfortunately got this disease. I don;t want to pity him for he goes on with life and makes his life to the fullest...that I'm sure! Kudos to you Doc. Buboy!

4. Libotero - I've been a big fan of this young kid ever since I met him. At a very young age, he was able to travel almost everything in the Philippines. *Sigh* When will I ever do that? He's the best person to ask if you'll be traveling somewhere. I ask him when I plan my itineraries.

5. Foodie Craft - this aggressive blogger has been slowly getting attention especially with her food blog. I've heard that restaurants and some food businesses are dying to get her time and ask for her food reviews. She has definitely improved and I love the way she writes. Great job!

Cebu Blog Camp 2011 on May 28

This coming May 28, is going to be a magnificent highlight to bloggers particularly, Cebu and the Visayas Region. Even bloggers in Luzon and Mindanao is interested on the said Camp because it is the first Blogging Camp that is organized  and spearheaded by Cebuanos.

The Cebu blog Camp is an event organized annually by the Cebu Bloggers of the Blog and Soul Movement which is the educating leg of the Philippine Blog Awards Inc. which has been running for already four years. This is the largest gathering of bloggers in Cebu.

This is going to be my second time to join Cebu Blog Camp (check my Cebu Blog Camp 2010 entry) and it still gives me chill and excitement. These are the reasons why Cebu Blog Camp is LOVE.

• This camp always makes me realize that no matter how good (if you think) you are, you can still learn so many thing, which makes you keep your feet on the ground and I want to thank you for that.
• Never ever underestimate newbies. You'll be amazed on what they posses as the next bloggers in the future.
• Getting reconnected with bloggers that you've met and became friends with is really awesome. However, getting to know new inspiring bloggers just gives me the chills.
• As the Blogosphere grows, the bloggers evolves into a better individual and go beyond what we simply call, blogging. I guess that is what Cebu Blog Camp wants to accomplish: To identify the future of bloggers.
• It's just heart-melting to see bloggers unite in one camp...and see on their eyes how eager they want to learn, inspire and be inspired by people they look up to. The fire that unites us, bloggers, will always be a strong force that drives us the go. No matter what our differences are, we will still be there to give a hand to our fellow bloggers.

That are my reason why I love Cebu Blog Camp.

My Say on National Bloggers Association

With all these issues and concern regarding the National Bloggers Association, these are my statements:

• The manifesto was obviously a draft for the said National Bloggers Association. Everything in the manifesto was open for changes. In fact, it was still unsure if it was to be called the 'National Bloggers Association'. It was purposely written to be a reference or a guide for all the bloggers.
• It is for every blogger, not for those organizations or societies. National Bloggers Association is not to erase the local organizations that has been existing. It is a mere bridge for every local organizations to easily organize a national event or whatsoever.
• Its purpose is to designate the manifesto to every bloggers in the Philippines and to those who are Filipinos, but since no one knows all the bloggers in the Philippines, it is definitely a slow dissemination process.

These are based on my opinion and what I can say about National Bloggers Association. I say don't spill incomplete information. There are better ways on how to address our concerns and suggestions. Though this plan is quite impossible, but if it's for the good and for the better of the blogging community, I will say YES and do my best to help and initiate this plan.

FinLust's Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010

Time passes so fast... It was just like yesterday when I wrote my Top 10 emerging influential blogs for 2009 and here I go again...about to write my Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010!

Back in 2009, I could just count my friends in the blogosphere with my fingers. Seriously, I have few friends before, but I slowly gain friends after joining different blogging events and the simple get-to-know meetup offline and online. If you try to read my previous entry about my influential blogs for 2009 (see link above), you will certainly feel that I am a noob... I used present tense because I still feel that I am...though I learned alot about blogging, but there are so many things that I still need to learn...and I mean SO MANY!

Okay, I won't keep you waiting and I'll be presenting My Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010:

I am voting for my music vlog, The Music Vlogger - make Song Requests at RabSing, as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. Rabsing, coincidentally, is now on its 3rd month and I think it is about time for this unique blog to shine! I hope other bloggers vote for Rabsing and gets inspired by this unique site.

I am voting for ATBP (Around The Buzz Primetime) as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 because this site is one of the source where I get information about showbiz and the like... Unfortunately, I still don't have television in my apartment and I still have so many priorities to handle than buying a television. So I would like to say thank you to the owner of this blog for giving me updates in the entertainment world.


I vote for Kusina Maria as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 because of the uber yummy photos of the food that makes you salivate and, unknowingly, want to eat your monitor. The site also gives you tips and techniques on how to make a cheap yet satisfactory food.

I vote for Avatar Media as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. The group talks about their events, projects, and related topics that aims to bridge the gap between the Internet and business intelligence.

I vote for Piggin Out Sessions as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. If you probably didn't know, I am fascinated with food. This blog is one of my inspiration why I will be making my own food blog and will be launching it soon.

I vote for Libotero as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. The blog's description just cached my attention. I had the chance to ask the author, Sinjin, about the site and these are the words that came out from his mouth (I have no idea why he made the sentences below as if he is a third person talking):

Sinjin loves to travel. He has traveled to most of Luzon. He has started to explore the Visayas last year. And this month, he will be conquering Mindanao for the first time. Sinjin vows to explore the whole country first before going beyond borders. Established on Dec. 31, 2009, Sinjin shares blow-by-blow accounts of all his travel experiences on Libotero hoping to encourage and inspire his kababayans to learn to explore and appreciate their very own.

I vote for Project 52 Weeks as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. This is Mica's indie film blog. One of the most unique blog niche ever. A very hard category that Mica has pulled off! I hope to be part of her cast someday.

I vote for Everything UBEC as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. This is my friend and a fellow Cebu Blogger's website. It obviously talks everything about the Queen City of the South, Cebu City. As a fellow music enthusiast, most of his entries are about music.


I vote Darlasauler as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 for she is uber funny and outgoing! I just love the way she writes her posts and how she adores herself so much! I need to have an attitude like her. I really want this girl to be part of the Influential Blogs for 2010. God bless!


I vote Cebu Tech Blogger as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010. This dude is one of the most established blogger in Cebu, I may say. A pure technocrat! I approach him if I need guidance anything about technology.

Cebu Blog Camp 2010 a Success

Indubitably, Cebu Blog Camp 2010 was full of interesting topics, great speakers, proactive bloggers and participants, hard working organizers and staff, fabulous sponsors and contests with fantastic prizes!

It was just amazing! I had so much fun, especially with the talks, the games, the prizes and most especially, the FOOD!!!

One of the best part of the event was also meeting new friends! I never expected that I will be meeting this people who I just know through their blogs...but during the event, I actually had the chance to even talk to them...except for one though. I never expected that Coy will be at the event and I actually didn't see him...too bad because I am an avid fan of his videos. He is one of the reason why I vlog.

I also won a customized wordpress theme worth $300!!! How cool is that!? It's THE BEST!!! Wooohooo! SO HAPPY!!! I'll make the most out of this prize!

First World Bloggers Day on May 2, 2010

Bloggers today are not just simply bloggers who blog just for the sake of blogging.

Bloggers today are critics. Bloggers today are mediator. Bloggers today are journalists...and so much more!

Because of the BIG change that bloggers did for the world, The Cebu Bloggers Society has decided to celebrate the importance of bloggers in our society and made the event called:

The World Bloggers Day

The said organization is hoping for this event to be an official worldwide event celebration...and is proud that the first World Bloggers Day is going to happen in Cebu at Parkmall, May 2, 2010 (4:00 - 6:00 pm)

All bloggers and interested people who wants to start blogging are highly encouraged to come and celebrate with us!

Together with the said event is a CONTEST! Yes, a Cast-Away Costume Contest! Who ever has the best costume during the first World Bloggers Day will be given an award and some amazing prizes! So you better get those artistic minds working and show off your cast away costume/attire.

I read Ms. Janettes entry about Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 Writing Project and I said to myself, this will be a great opportunity for me to know more about blogging and lots of stuff. I did not waste my time in looking for these Emerging Influential Blogs...

Finally, after hours of searching qualified and worthy blogs, I have finally chosen my TOP 10.

I honestly do not have much friends in the BLOG WORLD, but I did try my best to look for blogs that will fit for this title.

• I've been hopping around into this blog for quite sometime now and it always leaves a BIG smile on my face. Ridiculous and short, yet worth laughing for.
