TV5 is all set to boost its capacity to discover and hone new talents with the launch of Talent5, the network’s talent management and development division. Taking on the challenge of discovering new faces with the greatest star potential, Talent5 will be headed by no less than renowned theater actor-director and Talentadong Pinoy resident judge Audie Gemora.
With Talent5 leading TV5’s quest to discover outstanding talents among thousands of Filipino showbiz aspirants, the Kapatid Network is set to create another milestone in Philippine show business.
“Talent5 will be a home for future stars and a home where every single one of them will be accommodated,” Gemora stressed. “I believe that you can only have as many kids as you can love. In Talent5, I would prefer not to have so many artists but we must focus on the few that we have. I want to study very well how to manage their careers, not just as stars of the station itself but as total stars in the making.”
Gemora has made his mark in theater and music circles before becoming a popular judge in TV5’s flagship talent program, Talentadong Pinoy. Over his three decades of theater experience, he was revered as the "King of Philippine Musical Theater" for his performances in West Side Story, Amadeus, Les Miserables for Repertory Philippines, and many others. He is also the president of the popular theater group TRUMPETS where he established the country’s leading multimedia summer workshop Playshop, the music school Musicademy, and fast growing My Talent summer workshop.
TV5 head of Entertainment and Creative Services Perci Intalan describes Gemora as an outstanding artist and excellent trainer. “We decided that Audie is our man for the job because apart from being a respected actor and director, he has experience as a teacher and mentor to young performers and is known for his integrity. With Audie in charge of discovering and developing new talents for the network, we are assured that our upcoming stars will be in good hands,” Intalan shared.
With over 20 years of training experience under his belt, Gemora aims to establish the best training any network-based talent group can provide. “It is my vision to really work hard on providing excellent training not just to performers but to every creative and technical person involved in television. I would like to establish some kind of ‘showbiz school’ where you learn everything that has to do with the industry hands-on,” said Gemora.
To kick off Talent5’s talent management and development plans, TV5 is launching the newest talent search, Star Factor. There will be day-long auditions to be held at the SM Mall of Asia on July 25 and regional auditions in SM Davao on August 1 and SM Cebu on August 7.
Gemora will be sitting in as chairman of Star Factor’s panel of judges, the Star Makers, composed of director Joey Reyes, ace fashion photographer Raymund Isaac, and music icon Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, and talent manager Ms. Annabelle Rama. The reality-based talent search will be screening showbiz hopefuls aged 13-18 years old for the total package of good looks, exceptional talent and charm, and the all-important star potential that will help Talent5 hone them into TV5’s biggest teen idols and rank them among the hottest personalities in the industry as well.
Talent5 is also set to house the Talentado Center, where past, present and upcoming Talentadong Pinoy talents will be managed under one roof. TP talents’ management and bookings will soon be coursed through Talent5’s Talentado Center.
